The project involves designing a package line for the Marchés Public de Montreal’s Bakery’s new product line, focusing on traditional yet standout packaging to cater to existing loyal customers and attract new ones.

The bakery committed to using local ingredients and delivering exceptional craftsmanship and customer service. They operate in the food and beverage industry, aiming to promote their locally driven business concept while maintaining premium quality standards. Initial mandate for the project was to conceptualize and design a product line along with their respective packages for the bakery’s fall product release. The primary challenge to be addressed was standing out in a competitive market while appealing to a diverse clientele base. From the outset, the idea was to create a design that strikes a balance between boldness and welcoming aesthetics, ensuring it catches the attention of passersby without overwhelming them.
The project’s impact was profound, as the newly designed packaging not only stood out to existing MPM customers, but also drew in a broader clientele through the design. By incorporating meaningful design elements that resonated with consumers, we were able to enhance the bakery’s brand perception and potential sales. Through this project, I learned firsthand the significant influence designers can wield in shaping consumer perceptions and driving business success through thoughtful and intentional design, as well as refined my ability to create original, compelling and functional dielines for product packages
